I am writing to submit my candidature for one of the four open positions on the Management Committee (CG) for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years. I have a four year old child at school, and another child on the way. With them starting their academic journey, my motivation for joining the board is rooted in a desire to make a deep, long-term investment in the sustainability, growth, and welcoming culture of our school community.
I understand that one of the many roles the CG is entrusted with is the critical responsibility of financial management. Operating a dynamic, international institution requires thoughtful financial governance (balancing tuition structures and ensuring the school's long-term operational health). I qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and trained with Grant Thornton in London, where my work included complex financial analysis and structural planning. I hope to bring this technical background to the board to help review budgets and ensure financial efficiency, always with a collaborative approach that is sensitive to the diverse circumstances of our families.
The upcoming expansion into the adjoining French cultural centre premises is a remarkable milestone for the school. As the CG oversees construction, renovation, and maintenance projects, my experience as a practicing Advocate specialising in corporate, commercial, and construction related matters could be of significant value as I can offer practical support to help the board manage issues such as construction contracts, transition agreements and regulatory compliance.
Furthermore, I am inspired by the Projet d'établissement 2022-2025 and its focus on community well-being and opening the school to the broader environment. I would be delighted to see the school take on ambitious, long-term partnerships with other international schools and local institutions. I would also be glad to assist in structuring the school's internal democratic initiatives, such as the proposed eco-responsibility charter, to help these community projects flourish.
I fully recognise that serving on the CG requires a commitment of 8 to 9 hours per week and I am prepared to dedicate the time, and energy required to support these important initiatives.
